Abbey Business team raises £10k for charity on gruelling cycle challenge

Five employees from Cheltenham-based Abbey Business Equipment, including three company directors, have returned to Cheltenham after completing a gruelling 200-mile cycle ride, raising around £10,000 for the The Meningitis Trust based in Stroud.

The Abbey Team make it to the Eiffel towerThe Abbey Business Equipment team, which includes Directors Neil Brimble, Steve Layer, David Giles, and Account Managers Tim Harris and Dion Murrell, cycled from London to Paris in just three days.

Neil Brimble, MD of the office solutions provider, said: “This has been an incredibly tough, but worthwhile experience for all of the Abbey team. Parts of the English section of the route were long and steep and we all suffered, but this was soon forgotten when we reached France and its beautiful smooth and quiet roads.

“There was a great sense of elation when we first caught sight of the Eiffel Tower from the outskirts of the city and the ride through the hustle and bustle of the Paris traffic was a great experience. We're delighted to have raised in the region of £10,000 for the charity and would like to thank everyone for their support.”

The Abbey Business team completed the cycle ride on July 5th.
